Our Staff

Hi! I am DR. RAJIV BHATIA and I am a doctor of veterinary medicine graduate of the Punjab Agricultural University in India . Upon completion of my veterinary degree I did my masters in veterinary surgery and radiology. After achieving my masters I practiced and taught veterinary surgery and radiology at the same University for over 8 years. In December 2000 I immigrated to Canada and have been practicing in small animal medicine and surgery since. I have worked in various settings – daytime practice, after hour emergency practice and 24 hour animal hospitals. I feel compassion for the pets and their owners is the most essential part of veterinary medicine. My special interests lie in surgery, radiology and internal medicine. I attend continuing education courses on a regular basis and always strive to provide the most current diagnostics and treatment for my patients!

Hi everyone! My name is AMY BHATIA and I am the hospital administrator here at Beaver Creek Animal Hospital. I was born and raised in Windsor, ON and moved here with Dr. Raj in August of 2009. I completed my Bachelor of Science honours degree at the University of Guelph in Animal Biology in December of 2007. I enjoy being around animals and educating clients on how they can take the best care of their additional family members as they possibly can. I love all the nature and walking areas the St. Thomas region brings. I also enjoy riding my horse Ralley, walking our dogs Sydney and Darla and watching movies!

Hi my name is SARAH MCGANNON and I am the office manager here at the Beaver Creek Animal Hospital. I joined the hospital team in August of 2012. Before moving to Ontario from Vancouver in 2005 I was a Veterinary Assistant for 15 years and I still truly love what I do! I live in St. Thomas with my son Finnley and my furkidlet golden retriever cross Payton. I enjoy gardening, cooking and anything creative and crafty.

Registered Veterinary Technician RENITA DEWAELE was born and raised in Springfield Ontario spending her time between two family farms. Growing up, she had the good fortune to be surrounded by a variety of animal friends including; cows, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, peacocks, dogs and cats. She presently shares her home with her three cats; Sylvester, Caramel, and O’Malley as well as her dog Gracie. Renita graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus in the fall of 2017. Not only does Renita have a strong passion for veterinary medicine, but she also has a very creative side that she expresses through drawing, painting, writing poetry and playing the tenor saxophone. Apparently, this isn’t enough to keep her busy, as she also finds time to go camping and fishing with family and friends

Hi my name is MICHELLE ADDLEY. I graduated from Ridgetown College in 2002. Working at Beaver Creek Animal Hospital since 2003 as a registered veterinary technician has allowed me to do a job I love and could not imagine doing anything else. I live in St. Thomas with my black cat Bogie, but still find time to go home to my parents to see my dog Knight, a male dutch shepherd. When not at work I enjoy spending time with friends and family watching movies and going to London Knights Hockey Games.

Hi, my name is BRITTANY THIBODEAU. I joined the Beaver Creek Animal Hospital as a coop student in 2013. Upon completion of the coop program I was employed on a part time basis as a nighttime kennel staff. During that time I witnessed numerous interesting cases of animals requiring after hour care. In the fall of 2016 I switched to full time employment as a veterinary assistant. I love animals, I love my job and I couldn’t imagine anything better than working with my favorite thing in the world! I love spending my spare time with my four legged children; my wrinkly Sharpei mix Rocky Rue and my two fur kitties Gracie and Tigger.

Hello, my name is CELINE DESNOYERS. I have just recently joined the team at Beaver Creek Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician. I grew up in Northern Ontario and have been working in the veterinary profession since the age of 15. in 2013, I graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.Sc. in Biomedical Science. I then returned to school graduating as an RVT from Northern College in the spring of 2017. When I’m not busy caring for the patients at our hospital  I love going for long walks with my best buddy Dexter (a handsome Golden Retriever) or spending time at home with my hearing-impaired kitty named Edison.

DARLA is the west highland terrier that belongs to Dr. Raj and Amy who you will often see behind the front reception counter. She loves to try to convince clients to feed her as many treats as possible and will voice her terrier attitude to other dogs when they first enter. Darla loves squirrels, being outside, going for walks and would gladly accept an unlimited amount of belly rubs every day.

VITO came to Beaver Creek Animal Hospital from the St. Thomas city pound because he was having difficulties breathing.  After doing X-rays, we found he had a diaphragmatic hernia (meaning his abdominal organs were in his chest). Vito is a strong kitty who pulled through major surgery and continues to do well each day, even though he now only has one working lung!  During his long recovery the staff fell in love with him! He spends his days lying in his cat bed, playing with toys or keeping an eye on all of us making sure we are doing a good job.
